These three works separately deal with struggle, acceptance, and dialogue. Together they explore the life of any creature on this planet: we all must struggle in life, in our own way, Accept what we have been given or what has been stolen, and communicate and change as new points of view and experiences are exchanged.
The ghosts have become a representation for me of my inner self and thoughts. Moving around alot as a child and being a natural introvert made me feel like I wasn’t really there. Not permanent or corporeal (not that i knew what that meant as a child…). The many expressions and actions of the ghosts have limitless possibilities and represent an ever-changing mind, frequently flying hither-thither, here and there, no end in site. They are also so much fun and make sure that I don’t(can’t) take myself too seriously. Thank goodness for that. We all need some of that.
The robots have always represented the same thing in all my works: drudgery, wage slavery, and vacuousness. I have always rebelled against wage work. Don’t get me wrong, I love to work with my hands, break a sweat, and finish a job well done, but I have been keenly aware of the concept of alienation before I even knew what that word meant. Let’s be real here; we’re all robots of some kind at some time.
The skulls and musculature are really just visual representations of the artists work. This is a glimpse into my thoughts and feelings. Seeing through, and deep into my self. I always have to have a personal connection to my pieces.
The paintings are on some of the largest canvases I have worked with, keeping in line with my love of large works. 3 canvases at 5’X4′. Spraypaint, paint marker, ink. Nothing fancy, mostly mtn 94, their Street Paint markers (Great dabbers btw), and Sharpie oil-based.
If your keeping score, these are also in line with my most recent 3 song EP which is on johnasaccone.bandcamp.com. Each one is based on the same theme as the corresponding song, but I’m not going to bore you with the details( I also used the lyrics in there). You should check out the songs though as they do represent my most comprehensive solo musical composition to date. During the live set I would play them all as one solid piece over a 30 min set. I’ll post a set video soon, or make a new one, not sure yet.
Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you like the new pieces! make sure to follow me on instagram @atypical_narcissist and check out the johnasaccone.bandcamp.com. New music and art all the time, no seriously.

A month ago my wife decided to take the train home from the city and she was very surprised to see this birthday present still going strong. What a testament to the NJ graff scene. This was never a hot spot, but so lucky and happy to see something so positive get respected in this day and age. Either way, onto my point here…….
john a saccone and this website in no way encourage the illegal act of vandalism or defacing of public property. hehe
I have been spending alot of time looking back into my life as an artist over the last twenty years or so, and while i have some regrets, overall i’m proud of the work that I have done. Could I have worked harder? yes. Did I work harder than most? maybe not. Did I do my best? no way. Good thing is I’m through beating myself up. I spent most of the past twenty years a depressed, perfectionist mess. I wouldn’t attempt new things, or put too much effort in, I wouldn’t ask for help or look for collaboration. Most times I wouldn’t finish anything as I felt it wouldn’t end up perfect. These last few years developing a better relationship with my wife and my family and friends has helped a great deal in my artistic development by giving me support and confidence. Also I learned a little about mindfulness and that pays dividends.
Again I lost my point, haha. Ok what I wanted to do with this post was put up some really old stuff that I had found recently as I look back through all my art. so here goes. also check the media section for more old stuff. Thanks for coming! See you soon!
Looking back over the last year I have been painting a lot and I wanted to recap a little. My wife and daughter have inspired me more than anything, and I couldn’t be happier. Seriously….every cliche is true and I am it. haha.
Anyone who knows me IRL knows that it has been a crazy year since I last updated this website. In October of last year we were so lucky to welcome our beautiful baby girl into our lives
This beautiful wonder has profoundly changed my life and seriously impacted my art(as you will see). Also the fact that, aside from my previous injury, my hands have been in very bad shape for the past year, making me focus a great deal more on visual art. The condition of my hands forced me to scrap the plans I had to record and release an Acoustic songs that I had written over the last 5 or 10 years. Mostly I wanted to vent all of my depression before the baby came. Well, since that didn’t happen, I’ll be rehearsing and I should have it ready before the end of summer. (Working Title)
Thanks alot for checking in and for supporting my art!!! I started and Instagram account to!! Check the link above as I change the name every so often! or search #johnasaccone
Due to an accident I have been forced to take a small break from music. It HAS allowed me to start a few new pieces of art though. Here’s a few examples of the progress I have been making, and also my newest piece that has been selected to be included in the upcoming Against the Grain show hosted and curated by the folks over at the Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market and Artworks. Thanks again to everyone who has been so patient and supportive during this recovery time haha
Here is the piece that will represent me at the ATG show coming up on 8-6-16 @ Artworks in Trenton NJ Reflactiondiery
also this is a Bowie tribute piece I also finished recently truewaveexistance
These will soon be masterpieces, I’m sure. haha Not quite decided on if they will be singular pieces or split…. work in progress works in progress works in progress

If you have been following along (or if you scroll down, I suppose) , you can see that this is the end result of the repurposing/repainting of that gigantic canvas I found by the dumpster in our development. I’m super proud of it. I had an amazing time doing it too. Thanks guys, wish me luck getting into the show.
